A few weeks ago a shopping blog, Rare Bird Finds, featured my Time for love hand embroidered wall art.  It was a lovely surprise and brought a lot of traffic to my shop, Swans Crossing for which I am quite grateful. The feature can be found here: Hand Embroidered Wall Art

Aside from the wonderful feature and subsequent traffic, I really enjoyed learning about Edward Gorey. Mr. Gorey was an American writer and artist, known for his macabre illustrations.

I found his work to be mysterious with a comical flair.  After visiting his website and learning more about his work, I was pleasantly surprised to learn that it was his illustrations that were used in the opening titles of the PBS series Mystery. I loved watching Mystery, especially the Agatha Christie series and Mr. Gorey's illustrations made the show even more enjoyable. I found a Pinterest link that showcases some of my Mr. Gorey's work: Edward Gorey

Some of my favorites from the PBS Mystery show:

Edward Gorey died at the age of 75 on April 15, 2000 but his work lives on and still touches the lives of many just like me.

On February 21, 2013, Google paid a tribute to Edward Gorey on what would have been his 88th birthday. I love it! Have a look:
